Why Channel Indico

Procurement is where the money is quietly lost

01

Scarcity is a procurement problem, not an excuse

Buying decisions in Mozambique are often made under conditions of scarcity. We plan around that — alternative sources, early commitment, consolidated shipments — so quality and quantity hold even when the market does not.

02

The wrong product at a high cost is the real risk

Most organisations spend their time searching, and still end up with the wrong item or an inflated price. We take the whole chain off your desk: specification, sourcing, clearance and delivery.

03

Round the clock, because a vessel is a clock

Our team works 24/7. A call that arrives at anchorage at two in the morning is answered at two in the morning, because every hour of downtime is charged to someone.

04

Our own warehouses, our own trucks

Refrigeration and freezer facilities in our own warehouses, and a dedicated fleet of reefer trucks delivering daily. Nothing in the cold chain is subcontracted to chance.

05

One supplier for the whole coastline

Head office in Maputo, branches in Beira, Nacala, Pemba, Quelimane and Moma. The same account, the same terms and the same standard in every port.

06

Integrity as a business condition

Every interaction is driven by integrity and respect — not as a slogan, but because in procurement the supplier who inflates an invoice once is never trusted with the next order.

How we work

From requisition to signed receipt

  1. 1

    Enquiry

Send the requisition, the port and the ETA. By email, by phone or through the form — whatever is fastest at the hour you have.

  2. 2

    Quotation

We come back with prices, lead times and any substitution we would recommend, with the reason stated.

  3. 3

    Sourcing

Stock picked from our warehouse, or sourced through our global team where the item is specialist.

  4. 4

    Clearance

Documentation prepared and lodged, and coordination with the port authority handled by us.

  5. 5

    Delivery

Alongside at berth, by launch at anchorage, or off-port limits. Receipts signed and returned with the invoice.

FAQ

Need a quotation?

How fast can you deliver to a vessel at anchorage?

It depends on the port, the launch availability and the item. Stock items from our own warehouse move fastest; specialist items sourced abroad depend on freight. We give you a realistic time with the quotation rather than a hopeful one.

Do you deliver off-port limits?

Yes. We serve vessels at berth, at anchorage and off-port limits across all the ports we cover, and deliver daily to onshore customers by our own trucks.

Can you source an item you do not stock?

Yes. We hold a wide range of specialist products and arrange to stock items that are regularly needed. For anything beyond that, our global sourcing team buys it in, and we tell you the lead time before you commit.

How do you keep fresh provisions cold?

Our warehouses have refrigeration and freezer facilities, and we move goods in our own reefer trucks. Fruit, vegetables and dairy are bought and delivered daily rather than held long.

Do you handle customs clearance as well as supply?

We do. Clearance, marine survey and husbandry sit alongside chandling, which is the point of a one-stop shop: one counter, one invoice, one party answerable for the result.

Which currencies and payment terms do you work with?

Terms are agreed per account and stated on the quotation. For a new counterparty we will usually propose terms with the first quotation rather than leave it to the invoice.

Send the requisition. We will come back with a price and a time.

Tell us the port, the ETA and what you need. If something cannot be done in the time you have, we will say so instead of promising it.
